John Butler Trio - Bullet Girl

New trio, new sound, still great songs. Surprised I’m liking the album as much as I am.

Tokyo Police Club - Hot Tonight

An exceedingly happy song to mark an incredible night!

Emancipator - Soon It Will Be Cold Enough To Build Fires

Discovering this album 7+ years after it was released (thanks Pandora!). The whole thing is excellent from start to finish.

Home screen to start off the year. Almost all badges are off.

2nd playground trip of the day (at Blue Valley Park)

Kurt Vile - Shame Chamber

Heard a couple of Kurt Vile songs when I was out last night, and it reminded me how pleased I am that Wakin On A Pretty Daze has gotten him broader recognition. I was obsessed with Childish Prodigy when it came out, and I still feel like that record deserved to be much more popular and successful than it was.

I love the groove that this one has: it’s got more of a direct, catchy hook that many Kurt Vile songs offer.

So good

The War On Drugs | Red Eyes

What a great indie song.

Great tune. Will check these guys out more!

Santigold - Shooting Arrows At The Sky

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

Good song for winter time, both in title and mood.
